BJJ for Military Families Near Fort Campbell — No Contracts, Real Training
Fort Campbell is one of the largest military installations in the United States. The personnel stationed there — and the families who move with them — make up a significant part of the Clarksville community. They also make up a significant part of MMAFFC's student body.
This post is for the soldier, the spouse, or the military kid who's been thinking about training jiu-jitsu near Fort Campbell and hasn't pulled the trigger yet.

Why BJJ Makes Sense for Military Personnel
The connection between military service and martial arts training is not new. Combatives programs have been part of Army training since before Modern Army Combatives Program became doctrine. Prof. Matt Larsen — the instructor who promoted Coach Don to black belt — is the founder of MACP and one of the most significant figures in military martial arts in recent history. That lineage is not incidental. It's embedded in how Coach Don teaches.
What BJJ develops in a training environment — controlled aggression, pressure management, positional awareness, staying calm when things go wrong — maps directly onto qualities that matter in the military. Personnel who train here don't just get fitter. They get sharper.
The No-Contract Model Works for Military Life
Here's the honest reality of training with a PCS cycle: you might be at Fort Campbell for eighteen months, or you might be there for four years. You might deploy six months into a membership. You might get orders right when your training is hitting a stride.
Long-term contracts are not compatible with military life, and MMAFFC has never required them. Month to month. No sign-up fees. No cancellation penalty. If you get orders, you stop. If you come back to Clarksville, the door is open. That's how it should work.
The Drive From Post Is Straightforward
MMAFFC is located at 2126 Fort Campbell Blvd Suite B — the same road that runs directly from the main gate. There's no navigating across town, no fighting Clarksville traffic from the wrong direction. You're already on the right road. Most Fort Campbell students are on the mat within ten to fifteen minutes of leaving post.
Evening classes run Monday through Friday starting at 5PM, which aligns with a normal duty day schedule. Open mat follows the main classes at 8PM for soldiers who want extra rounds after a late PT session or a longer day.
Programs Available for the Whole Family
Military families often move together, and MMAFFC's program structure reflects that. Adults train in the fundamentals class and open mat. Kids four through eight train in Little Warriors. Kids nine through fifteen train in Junior BJJ. Women have a dedicated Women's Only class Monday and Wednesday evenings.
A family can train here together — each member in the right program for their age and level — without being split across multiple gyms or multiple schedules.
Come Train Before You Commit to Anything
The first class is free. No paperwork beyond a waiver, no pitch at the end, no obligation. Come in, meet Coach Don and Coach Kim, get on the mat, and make a decision based on what you actually experience.
